In short
- One question per piece
- The title is the question, the first sentence is the answer. Also when that answer is "no".
- With author and date
- Every piece carries who wrote it and when, and that date sits in the machine-readable layer too.
- Not to sell
- A guide that turns into a sales pitch halfway is read by a model as advertising, not as a source.
In what order is it best to read these pieces?
From door to structure to sources. First check whether you are letting in what you mean to let in; then whether what gets fetched is comprehensible to a machine; and only then whether enough exists about you outside your own domain to be cited. Reverse that order and you write the finest page of your life behind a shut door.
Which questions get answered here?
The list below comes from the same source as the pieces themselves, so it cannot fall behind. Every line carries the question and the answer in one sentence — enough to decide whether to open it, and enough to be taken over as a standalone fact by whatever reads this page.
| The question | The answer, in one sentence |
|---|---|
| What is GEO, and why is it not SEO under a new name? | GEO — Generative Engine Optimization — is everything you do to get named and cited by an AI search engine inside the answer itself, rather than in a list of links below it. |
| What is AEO, and is it more than a second name for GEO? | AEO — Answer Engine Optimization — is writing and structuring your pages so that a passage in them is usable as an answer: one paragraph that holds up on its own, without the sentence before it and without the button after it. |
| What does AI visibility mean, and how do I know whether I have it? | AI visibility is the extent to which an AI assistant names your company, cites it as a source, or outright recommends it when someone asks a question you are the answer to. |
| What is the difference between GEO and SEO? | SEO steers towards a position in a list of links; GEO steers towards presence in an answer the engine writes itself. |
| What does someone mean when they say AI SEO? | AI SEO is not a defined craft but an umbrella term the market uses for three incompatible things: having a language model generate content, making your website fit to appear in AI answers, and having software perform the SEO work itself. |
| What is AI readiness, and why is it not visibility? | AI readiness is the degree to which your own website is fit to be read, understood and lifted by an AI system. |
| Should I measure my visibility or my readiness? | Readiness is what you control and visibility is the outcome in the market; the first leads, the second follows. |
| Why do two tools give me a different AI score? | An AI visibility score summarises how often you appear in the answers of a set of engines, weighted by how heavily each engine counts in your market. |
| What is share of choice, and why is share of voice no longer enough? | Share of choice is the proportion of asked questions where an AI assistant recommends you as the answer, not merely names you. |
| What does agent-ready mean for an ordinary website? | Agent-ready means an AI agent on your site can not only read what you offer but also see how to act: reserve, order, request a quote, get in touch — each as a described action in the structured data and not as a button with a picture on it. |
| What is query fan-out, and why does one question measure too little? | Query fan-out is the behaviour where an answer engine splits one asked question into several sub-queries, fetches sources for each separately, and merges the results into a single answer. |
| How do I end up in ChatGPT's answers? | You get into a ChatGPT answer through two different doors, and they demand different work: either the assistant fetches something live during the conversation — and then what is findable at that moment decides who is named — or it draws on what it processed earlier, and then what has been written about you over the years decides. |
| Why does AI name my competitor and not me? | There are four causes for an assistant naming someone else: your site cannot be read, there is too little about you outside your site, what does exist is outdated or confused with somebody else, or you lose on a property the asker cared about. |
| Which AI actually comes past my site? | Every AI assistant fetches pages under its own name, and that name sits in your server log beside the time and the page requested. |
| Does llms.txt work, or is it a file nobody reads? | llms.txt is a text file on your domain summarising in plain language what your site is and where the main pages live, meant for language models. |
| Why does AI see my site as empty when there is text on it? | A site that assembles its content in the browser with JavaScript delivers a nearly empty document on first fetch; the text appears only after the scripts have run. |
| Does bad SEO hurt my chances in AI answers? | Bad SEO hurts your chances in AI answers insofar as it obstructs reading and understanding your site, and no further. |
| Do social media count towards AI answers? | Social channels usually do not come back in AI answers as a quotation but as confirmation: they show you exist, are active, and say what you say elsewhere. |
| How do I choose a tool for AI visibility? | You choose a tool for AI visibility on what it measures and whether you can repeat that measurement, not on the number of features in the comparison table. |
| What is the difference between a tracker and a fix list? | A tracker measures and shows the trend; a fix list traces every finding back to the source that caused it and says what has to happen there. |
| Can I outsource this, and what stays with me? | Almost everything can be outsourced except the approval: measuring, finding out, writing and filing are work someone else can do, but what appears under your name remains your responsibility and should pass you before it is anywhere. |
| Why is my score at ceeme lower than I expected? | Our score measures whether you get found by someone who does not know your name yet, and that is the hardest question you can ask. |
| Where does my money go if I invest in this? | The costs in this craft fall into three blocks that rarely appear together in one quote: the measuring itself, the investigative work that turns a finding into an action, and the execution. |
Which questions are deliberately missing?
Two kinds. Questions nobody has a measured answer to — how many people saw your name in an AI answer, for instance, because no provider publishes that. And questions whose answer here is a refusal: how to get reviews you have not earned, or how to join a forum conversation under another name.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to read everything before I can do anything?
No, and it is in fact the wrong order. One measurement on your own company tells you within a minute which three of these pieces are about you, and then you read those three instead of twenty-three.
Are these pieces updated?
Yes, and the visible date moves with them, from the same source as the date in the machine-readable layer. A piece rewritten without the date moving is a piece nobody can date any more.
