What is the visibility map divided along?
Four axes, and they stand apart because they break apart. Your market decides which engines weigh; your language decides which sources those engines fetch; the engine decides how strictly sources are handled; and the kind of question decides whether you are in the running at all. Fold those four into one number and the number is true and useless.
| axis | where it comes from | why it stands apart |
|---|---|---|
| market | the countries and areas from your intake | Decides which engines weigh. A market is not a language, and that difference is a product rule with us. |
| language | the language your buyer types the question in | An engine fetches different sources in Dutch than in French, even inside the same country. |
| engine | the engines with a measured share in that market | You can win in one and be invisible in another. A single average hides exactly that. |
| kind of question | need, category or comparison | The axis most measurements lean on, and the reason the next section exists. |
What is the difference between a keyword and a prompt?
A keyword is what you type to get a list; a prompt is a whole sentence you get one answer to. The practical difference is who fits in that answer: a list of ten holds ten, an answer of three sentences holds two. Which is why a map measures on questions and not on words — and why the composition of those questions weighs more than their number.
| kind of question | of 10 | what somebody types |
|---|---|---|
| need question | 4 | The problem, in the words of whoever has it, without knowing which kind of provider solves it. This is where the volume is and where you usually lose. |
| category question | 4 | From somebody who already knows the kind of provider and is looking for one. Legitimate, and it is the easy half. |
| comparison question | 2 | Weighing up, price, alternative. Few in number and heavy in weight, because whoever compares is right before a decision. |
Is it acceptable to put your own trade word in the measured question?
In the category questions yes, in the need questions no, and that line once cost us a measurement. At a client the measurement scored ten out of ten on every engine, and at the same time no ordinary question found them at all. Eight of the ten questions carried their own trade word — and on the question where they are by definition the answer, they win. We had measured a figure about ourselves.
How much does an extra zone on the map cost?
An extra zone is a full extra round of measurement: every question again, to every engine that weighs in that zone, with the answers kept. What that does in money depends on your route and sits on one page. What it does not do is dilute your existing zones — every zone is measured and reported separately.
Which zones does ceeme not measure?
Zones you did not choose, and zones for which we do not know the places. That last one is a real limit: our place list covers Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France and Luxembourg, and beyond that we cannot reliably recognise a town name as a town name. In such a market we do measure, with the places you supply — and without that list we guess none.
Frequently asked questions
Can I view the map per location?
Yes, if you enter those locations as zones. A zone with us is not an automatic derivation from your addresses but a choice at intake, precisely because three sites in the same city usually need one measurement and two sites either side of a language border need two.
Why is there no percentage per zone?
Because one percentage per zone makes the same mistake as one score for your whole company, only smaller. What you want to see in a cell is which of the four outcomes stands there and on which question — underneath sits the answer, and that is where the fix is. A zone percentage tells you something is going on and not what.
How many questions do I need per cell?
Enough to see a difference, and that starts around four. Below that our own score caps itself, and that capping is written out on the phases page. More questions do not make your outcome prettier, they make it defensible.
